Community Garden Portrait Project
New York City has well over 500 Community Gardens across all five boroughs. In the summer of 2019, I began photographing them. My project is to make group portraits in all of these gardens, and I will happily spend the rest of my days criss-crossing the city to do so. To bear witness to humans finding a way to cultivate plants in this, my asphalt city, is to nourish myself in a most essential way.
